The Weekly Hotness: Mariska Hargitay

I don't know what it is about her, but ever since she was cast in Law and Order SVU, she's been eye candy for me ever since. Katie always seems baffled by my choices of women, but what can I say? I like what I like.


Mariska's mother, Jayne Mansfield was also an actress who was killed in a car accident in the late 60's. It's easy to see where Mariska gets her looks from.

Dubrow Dead

I was shocked to hear that Quiet Riot lead singer Kevin Dubrow was found dead yesterday. I think I am going to start and see a lot of my "Rock and Roll" heroes and icons start to fade away.

Even though many still do not consider Quiet Riot Heavy Metal, Dubrows voice helped usher in the 80's Glam/Hair/Butt Metal Genre. Their pop oriented sound gave Heavy Metal a whole new fan base and started a trend that opened doors for many bands. I am also pretty sure that their album Metal Health was the first Heavy Metal album to reach number one.

So next time you hear Quiet Riot on the radio, or you are playing Metal Health on Guitar Hero, give thanks, a small moment of silence and maybe even get the high score.

The Future is not Set...

So, I decided to go all uber-geek on ya'll today. I was surfing this morning and I came across a promotional ad for the upcoming show The Sarah Connor Chronicles. Yeah, that's right...they're making a Terminator TV show. It's probably going to be campy and might even suck, but I'll watch it just because I like the story. The show starts in January on Fox. Click here for the link. Oh, and did I mention that Lena Headey is playing Sarah? Mmmm. (She was King Leonidas' wife in the movie 300.)

Anyway, they're having a promotional poster design contest. So, I decided to put my Photoshop skills to work. I whipped this up over my lunch hour and entered it. I had to choose from the photos and letterheads on their website, so I couldn't venture too far into the creativity realm for fear of legality concerns. It's first time I've ever made a movie/tv poster.

It's Monday? Already?

I hate it when my sleep schedule gets all fucked up from a long break. I couldn't fall asleep last night, but I didn't want to get up this morning either. I damn near smashed up my truck on the Nimtz bridge this morning. Damn thing was slicker than snot. I'm rollin' on through half asleep, when I see what appears to be a thin layer of snow on it, which much to my surprise ended up being a nice sheet of ice. The light turns red, so I hit the brakes. Did I stop? Nope. I did once I cleared the bridge intersection through. Right when I hit that warmer ground pavement. Luckily there was only one other car waiting to cross as I slid by all red-faced. I almost gave her the parade wave but decided not to. Pretty sure that would've ruined my day had that incident went any more awry. I may have to hand in my man card if I crash my truck in this weather, seeing as how I keep poking fun at Sue for having to re-learn how to drive in winter.

I did manage to catch Battlestar Gallactica's two hour film Razor over the weekend. Very cool. But it'll be much cooler once the show comes back to normal rotation on Sci-fi next March. Just like the damn Sopranos. One year off. One year on. Okay, okay. Enough already. I'll watch the reruns....honest. And give us back Lost while you're at it. Heroes can't carry all the weight. Ha! That could be a slogan. Get it? Heroes can't carry all the weight? Okay...it was gay...moving on.

Perhaps we should do a 'hottie of the week' post on here...you know...spice things up a bit.

So I have some time to check out this wonderful blog of ours and find that no one is posting. I see it as my civic duty to keep it going.

I am pretty depressed right now because gay ass Direct TV and their shit-ass satellite keeps screwing up and I will have to actually watch Hereos WITH commercials tonight because the box with the DVR wont receive!!

Why does cable have to cost so much around here!!!

I guess I could wait a week and watch it "online" , but that beats the entire purpose of buying a big ass TV now doesn't it???? Besides that everyone knows that the Internet is for Porn, not Heroes!!

Hard to believe... the anniversary of Jonathon's & my first date is Saturday. How could 7 years have gone by so fast? Hopefully this will help him remember he needs to get a card. :)

Man, this guy can draw....

I came across this guy's site today. Click here. Go to his portfolio and just browse. He's a digital illustrator in London. His name is kind of hard to pronounce, but mostly he refers to himself as REIQ. He seems to draw more women than anything else, and he's freakin' awesome at it.

I've been watching his uploads for a while now on Deviantart.com. And the bastard is only 24. I got some catching up to do if I want to match his mad skills.

Bah! A Blog??

I'm not really sure what to say. I'm typing as I'm thinking. I thought of naming the blog after Frank the rabbit from Donnie Darko. But I figured people would be like who the fuck is that?

It's Friday. Although ND has a game tomorrow, the campus is relatively quiet. I'm going to credit that to our awesome 8 game losing streak. Thanks Charlie. At this point, I don't think we could beat Penn High School.
