Blu-Ray

So, the wife and I were able to sample a Blu-Ray player last night for the first time.

Conclusion: Fucking stunning picture. (This was using the infamously over-priced HDMI cable as well.) Networks that are using HD are only broadcasting in 1080i. Our television is capable of 1080p. Both are the same resolution, except that 1080p has progressive scan, which helps in handling motion scenes much better, with little to no pixelation. Being that Blu-Ray is viewed in 1080p, it really does deliver an awesome picture and well worth the money in my opinion. Just make sure when you go to buy one, it has the latest firmware update, or you won't be able to play some DVD's.

Okay...Here it is...

You know, this was supposed to be a 'team' effort peoples. Which means, more Internet dorks than me have to post stuff! *insert sarcastic smiley here* So, I'll talk about some recent sites I came across in the last few days...

1) Cgunit - Just basically a blog site that showcases different artists spread across the web. It's usually updated once a day with new material. Some of the stuff they have on there is pretty cool and unique.

2) PhotoshopDisasters - Another blog with frequent updates highlighting graphical errors made in actual published material in circulation. Some of the stuff they post is pretty funny.

3) The Fall of Bear Stearns - This is an article I came across yesterday at Vanity Fair that sort of tracks the fall of (or speculated fall of) Bear Stearns. (Huge Investment Banker on Wall Street.) It's a long read, but if you've got some time to spare, check it out...it's a good read.
